What Maine requires on your label

The label maker below handles all of this for you. Here is the checklist it follows, straight from Maine's rules.

    Producer name, address, and zip code
    Your licensed operation's details.

    Ingredients in order of predominance
    Including sub-ingredients of commercial ingredients.

    Net weight, net volume, or numerical count
    Quantity of the contents.

    Allergen identification
    Per federal FALCPA: milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, and sesame.
  • Maine requires NO home-kitchen disclaimer, and one would be inaccurate: home food processors are licensed and inspected by DACF.
  • No label is required at all when selling directly to the consumer from your home.
  • Interstate sales trigger full FDA labeling.
