The label maker below handles all of this for you. Here is the checklist it follows, straight from New Jersey's rules.

   Your name and your cottage food business name.

   Only the municipality where the food is prepared; your home street address is NOT required on the label.

   Cottage Food Operator Permit number

   Your NJ DOH permit number.

   Product common name

   e.g. "Crumb Cake".

   Ingredients in descending order by weight

   Include sub-ingredients of compound ingredients.

   Allergen declaration

   A "Contains:" statement listing the major allergens present.

   Exact wording below, verbatim on every label.

• At any non-residential sales location, display your permit along with a placard bearing the same statement.
• Net quantity is not among the elements mandated by N.J.A.C. 8:24-11.4; including it is good practice.
