What Kentucky requires on your label

The label maker below handles all of this for you. Here is the checklist it follows, straight from Kentucky's rules.

   Common or usual name of the product

   e.g. "Bourbon Ball Brownies".

   Name and full address of the operation

   Street address, city, state, and zip. No registration number can substitute in Kentucky.

   Ingredients in descending order of predominance by weight

   Include sub-ingredients of compound ingredients.

   Net weight or volume

   By standard measure, or numerical count.

   Date the product was processed

   The processing date is mandatory.

   Allergen identification

   In the ingredient list or a "Contains:" statement; tree nuts by specific type. Milk, eggs, wheat, soybean, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, fish, shellfish.

   Required statement in 10-point type

   Exact wording below (KRS 217.136).

• The statement must be printed in 10-point type; no contrasting-color rule exists in Kentucky statute or guidance.
• The full home street address must appear on every label.
