What Oregon requires on your label

The label maker below handles all of this for you. Here is the checklist it follows, straight from Oregon's rules.

   Required statement, complete and verbatim

   The full sentence below including the retailer clause bakers most often drop (ORS 616.723).

   Name and phone number of the establishment

   Your business name and a phone number.

   Address, OR an ODA Unique Identification Number

   The ODA-issued ID number (application and fee) may replace your street address; city/state/zip alone also works if you are listed in a city directory. A P.O. Box is not allowed.

   Product name

   e.g. "Hazelnut Shortbread".

   Ingredients in descending order by weight

   Include sub-ingredients of compound ingredients.

   Net weight or net volume

   Weight or volume of the contents.

   Allergen warnings

   Per federal requirements.

   Pets in the dwelling

   Oregon uniquely requires disclosing pets present in the home, including the species common name (e.g. "Pets: dog").

   Nutrition information only if you make a claim

   Triggered by nutrient or health claims.

• The statement must appear verbatim including "and must be stored and displayed separately if merchandised by a retailer".
• Sales to retailers like coffee shops are permitted if products are stored and displayed separately (restaurants are not).
• No font size is mandated.
