Label Maker
Every label you make here includes what Washington law requires: the exact disclaimer wording, allergen statement, ingredients, and producer info. Design it, download it, stick it on the box.
What Washington requires on your label
The label maker below handles all of this for you. Here is the checklist it follows, straight from Washington's rules.
- 1Business name of the cottage food operationYour registered business name.
- 2WSDA permit numberSince 2020 the permit number replaces your home address on the label, a deliberate privacy protection.
- 3Name of the cottage food producte.g. "Marionberry Hand Pies".
- 4Ingredients in descending order of predominance by weightInclude sub-ingredients of compound ingredients.
- 5Net weight or net volumeWeight or volume of the contents.

- 7Nutritional labeling if any claim is madeOnly triggered by nutritional claims.

Required wording, added to your label automatically
Made in a home kitchen that has not been subject to standard inspection criteria.
- WSDA individually approves each label during permitting.
- RCW 69.22.020(4) says cottage food may not be sold by internet, mail order, or for retail sale outside the state. WSDA reads this as a shipping ban: you can take orders and accept payment online, but the product must be picked up or delivered in person inside Washington.
