What California requires on your label
The label maker below handles all of this for you. Here is the checklist it follows, straight from California's rules.
- 1"Made in a Home Kitchen" in 12-point typeOn the principal display panel. Use "Repackaged in a Home Kitchen" when applicable.
- 2Product nameA common or adequately descriptive name.
- 3CFO name, city, and ZIPThe street address is only required if your operation is not listed in a current telephone directory.
- 4Registration or permit number plus countyYour Class A registration or Class B permit number and the county of the issuing local enforcement agency (required for both classes).
- 5Ingredients in descending order by weightRequired when the product has two or more ingredients.
- 6Net quantityIn both English (oz/lb) and metric (g) units.
- 7Major food allergen declarationMilk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame.

Made in a Home Kitchen
- "Made in a Home Kitchen" must be in 12-point type on the principal display panel (HSC 114365.2).
- The issuing county must accompany the registration or permit number for Class A and Class B alike.
- No 2025 or 2026 changes to California labeling were found; the current rules date to AB 1144 (effective January 1, 2022).
