What Pennsylvania requires on your label

The label maker below handles all of this for you. Here is the checklist it follows, straight from Pennsylvania's rules.

  1. 1
    Product name
    e.g. "Shoofly Pie".
  2. 2
Name and address of the manufacturer
Your registered Limited Food Establishment name and address.
  3. 3
Ingredients in decreasing order by weight
    Include sub-ingredients of compound ingredients.
  4. 4
    Allergen declaration
When the product contains major allergens.
  5. 5
    Net weight or unit count
Weight, volume, or a simple count.
  • Pennsylvania requires NO home-kitchen disclaimer, and adding one would be inaccurate: registered Limited Food Establishment kitchens ARE inspected by the PDA.
  • Your labels are reviewed by the sanitarian at registration.
  • Nutrition Facts are needed only for interstate shipping or if you make a nutrient or health claim. Some packaged bakery items have labeling exemptions when the information is available to the consumer on request.

Your label is ready. Now let Pennsylvania find you.
