What New Mexico requires on your label

The label maker below handles all of this for you. Here is the checklist it follows, straight from New Mexico's rules.

   Producer name and home address

   Your legal or business name and the address where the food was prepared.

   Producer phone number AND email address

   New Mexico requires both contact methods on the label (NMSA 25-12-3).

   Common name of the food

   For example, "Pinon Cookies" or "Sourdough Bread".

   Ingredients in descending order of predominance

   Include sub-ingredients for compound items.

   Required statement

   Exact two-sentence wording is below and must appear on every package. It covers the allergen notice, so no separate allergen statement is mandated (listing allergens is still smart).

• For phone or custom orders the required notice may be given verbally; for bulk or online sales a placard or the product webpage can carry it.
• Net quantity is not mandated by the Homemade Food Act, but adding it is good practice.
• Labels must be in English. Other languages are welcome in addition.
